There are many graphics engines and other complex image procession systems sensitive to file names. For example, the name must contain digits only, must have no extension, etc. In this case, you’ll need a program that can unify file names as well as unify their format, perform some actions with the files (resize, crop, apply a background, etc). For example, the program should supply your file names with numbers, give names according to conversion time, file size or whatever you may need. If you need to have such actions performed, you can use Image Converter Plus software.
Here is a sample of converting a group of images with naming them as follows: [year of conversion]-[month of conversion]-[date of conversion] [file number].[type]
Step 1:
- Launch Image Converter Plus. Go to “Photos” tab, select and add images you want to process.
Step 2:
- Go to “Profiles” tab.
Step 3:
- Clear the textbox in “operations with target file name”.
Step 4:
- Press the button marked with dots.
Step 5:
- Select “Conversion Year” from the menu. {Year} text appears in the textbox. Enter the “-” separator.
Step 6:
- Repeat step 4 and add “Conversion Month”, “Conversion Day”.
Step 7:
- Enter a word space in the textbox and repeat step 4. Add “Counter (x digits format)” from the menu, where x is the maximal number of digits to name files. Select, say, Counter (3 digits format)
Step 8:
- Repeat step 4 for the last time and select “Result Image Type”.
Step 9:
- Specify other conversion settings (destination path and target format). Once you perform all these actions, “with target file name” textbox will display the following text: “{Year}-{Month}-{Day} {Counter3}.{Type}”
