Besides the actual photo, digital images also contain metadata – data about data, including EXIF and IPTC. EXIF is the information about how the image was captured (shutter speed, lens, time/date, etc). EXIF metadata is automatically written by the camera. IPTC metadata, on the other hand, is entered either manually or semi-automatically by the photographer and picture editor and is used to enter information to describe what the image is about (who, what, when, why, how). We believe that our users should be able to view all information stored in their photos. We also think that complete support of EXIF and IPTC is a must-have feature for any professional image converter, that’s why a new plug-in allowing to view EXIF and IPTC data has been added to the latest version of ImageConverter Plus. Apart from viewing EXIF and IPTC data it allows editing it, since some photographers, for instance, may not want their clients to access all the EXIF and IPTC information. They may not necessarily like others to know when an image was made, or the time taken between shots, or even the type of camera used.
